Welcome As part of our school welcome each academic year, class teachers will be holding a short meeting for parents to attend. These meetings will allow you to meet your child’s new teacher and also find out some of the day to day procedures your child will be following. You will also be given a curriculum forecast which details the themes and topic your child will be covering.

Swimming Our Year 4 children, and year 5 pupils who did not go swimming last year, will be starting swimming next week. Girls will need a one piece swimming

costume

, swimming cap (these can be bought from the school office)

and a towel. Boys will need a pair of swimming trunks

(Not swimming shorts X X) and a towel. Children will also need a small bag to carry their swimming kit in Your child will be coming home with a separate letter detailing the times of swimming lessons

Welfare Adult Behaviour.

Please remember that we expect high standards of behaviour from parents and visitors to the school site. St Anne’s is a no smoking site; smoking is banned from all areas of the school including the playground. We also ask that parents and visitors refrain from the use of inappropriate language and spitting on the floor. Dogs should not be brought onto the school premises unless they are support animals- in this instance please let the school know.

been informed in writing. If a high school child is picking up your child and is under 14 we also require you to send in a letter giving your permission.

School Nurse- the school nurse is in school every Monday afternoon. If you have a health concern you would like to discuss with her about your child please ring the school office to arrange an appointment.

Witness In union with the Holy Father in Rome, and with Catholic Dioceses throughout the world, here in Salford we are celebrating the Holy Year in a variety of ways. Pope Francis has called us to celebrate the mercy of God, something we must experience and practise in our lives, in our communities, and in a world much in need of mercy and reconciliation. Next week we will be receiving Salford Diocese’ ‘Door of Mercy’. This is being passed around all the school’s within the Diocese and will be with us for 2 days before we pass it on to St Phillip’s in Salford. The school Chaplains and RE ambassadors will be will be leading short assemblies with the children- please speak to your child about the Year of Mercy and what they have learned. ‘ Year of Mercy Prayer All loving Father, you sent Jesus your Son to show us Your mercy and to teach us how to forgive one another.

Pour out Your Holy Spirit upon us.

Help us to remember that we are all sinners.

Let this Year of Mercy be a pilgrimage, a journey back to You. Make us ambassadors of mercy, sharing Your forgiveness with everyone, especially those who feel that they are beyond Your love.

We make this prayer through Christ our Lord.

Celebration Assembly This month’s behaviour Gospel Value is Acceptance. During our celebration assembly this morning the following children were recognised by their teachers for excellent behaviour, effort and attitude.

Year 6 children: Wiktor, Damian.

Well done children, you are a credit to the school and have made your teacher’s very proud of your achievements this week.

Sacramental Programme Mass- This Sunday 10.30am - Presentation Mass. All children on this Year’s Sacramental Programme Mass need to be in Church by 10.20am. Children will sit at the front with the school staff. Parents and children will be invited onto the altar during the Mass- please bring your child’s baptism candle with you.
