Dear Parent and Carers,

Welcome Welcome back to the beginning of another new academic year. I hope you have had a lovely summer holiday. Below are a few staff changes that have taken place since last term: Mrs Haggett, Mrs Radcliffe and Mrs Clegg have taken up new posts as Assistant head teachers (Mrs Radcliffe is currently on maternity leave and had a beautiful baby girl during the holidays- they are both doing very well).

Welcome to our new staff that have joined us this term, Miss El-Gahly (Year 4), Miss Horner (Year 6) and Ms Sultana (EYFS teaching assistant).

I would also like to say a special welcome to all our new children who have joined us across the school; we hope you enjoy learning here at St Anne’s. God Bless you all.

Please remember; our High Standards will be expected from all pupils at all times, this includes wearing the correct school uniform.

No unacceptable haircuts/earrings/jewellery Shoes - no trainers/ pumps/coloured footwear.

School bags - no fashion bags or rucksacks. The school office has ordered new school bags and will text parents once these are available.

School Punctuality We have had lots of children arriving late for school so far this week. Please remember that your child needs to be in class before the bell goes at 8.55am; The doors close at this time and late children should then enter school via the main office.

Nursery and Reception children finish at 3.20pm.

Key stage 1 & 2 children finish at 3.30pm Aftercare finishes at 4.00pm.

The school gates open at the end of the day at 3.15pm- on entering please do not stand near to your child’s class window as it can be very distracting when teachers are trying to finish lessons for the day- thank you for your support in this matter.

The school attendance target for this year is 98%.

Minutes late per day during the school year = days’ worth of teaching lost in a year.

5 minutes = 3.4 days 10 minutes = 6.9 days 15 minutes = 10.3 days

School Office opening hours Monday - open all day.

Tuesday - office closed for payments.

Wednesday-Friday open all day but no payments during the afternoon.

If you would like to pay for school meals, trips, breakfast and afterschool club online please see the school office staff who will set you up on the system.

Welfare School Nurse- the school nurse is in school every Monday afternoon. If you have a health concern you would like to discuss with her about your child please ring the school office to arrange an appointment.

Safeguarding- If you have a concern for the safety of a child at the school you can contact Mrs Orrell, the designated Child Protection Officer on 0161 740 5995. You can also contact Manchester Children’s Services directly on 0161 234 5001.

Diary Dates

Sunday 18th September – Presentation Mass for children on this year’s Sacramental Programme. 10.30am in Church.

Friday 23rd September – Genes for Jeans Charity day- children may wear non uniform £1.00 donation.

Tuesday 27th September – School Mass. 9.10am – all welcome.

Friday 30th September- MacMillan Coffee Morning- details to follow.

Tuesday 11th October – Harvest Mass (own clothes day on Friday 7th Octoberdonations of food items for Cornerstones Homeless Shelter).

Saturday 15th October – Church and Ministries Sacramental Programme Meeting in church 1.45pm – children on sacramental programme this year. This is followed with Mass on Sunday 16th at 10.30am.
