Book Bags Letters, reading books and homework will go into your child’s book bag so please bring them everyday.

Uniform Reminders No earrings—not even studs. Please take them out.

Please bring spare clothes for your child to keep in school. Children sometimes have accidents or just get wet playing with the water.

Class doors opens at 8.45 and shut at 8.55am. If you arrive after this time please take your child to the school office.

End of day collection School finishes at 3.20pm. In Foundation Stage we open earlier to help parents who have other children to collect. If your child is being picked up by another adult please let the adult on the door know or ring the office. We will not let your child go home with an unfamiliar person.

Workshops

Each day a snack of fruit and milk is available.

Homework Each child has a reading book to share and enjoy at home which will be changed weekly if your child can read it with an adult in school and talk about what they have read. There maybe times when your child will have a book more then once and this is done to help your child. We ask that you read every night with your child and sign their homework diary making any relevant comments.

When your child is ready they will also receive weekly phonic and writing homework. Children may also be given other small tasks to do at home.

This year we are introducing Talk Time. Talking about a picture will help your child with their reading, develop their inference and comprehension skills as well as building their vocabulary. Later in the school year this will help your child with their writing skills too.

Rewards Our positive ethos means that we believe in giving praise and encouragement to children for their efforts and achievements, both socially and academically. Children may move on the behaviour chart to silver or gold and they will receive special acknowledgment or a certificate in our weekly assembly every Friday afternoon.

Prizes & treats are also given as rewards for excellent behaviour, attitude & learning. This can include stickers, reward points on DoJo and choosing a prize from the prize box.

To help parents and carers understand how their child learns at St. Anne’s we will be running a range of workshops through the year. These include

Email for Parents Our Early Years Foundation Stage has an email address for parents.

We want you to share any star moments in your child’s learning by sending us pictures that we can print off and put into your child’s Learning Journey file.
