First Reconciliation and Holy Communion An information evening for parents who would like to enrol their child(ren) to prepare for these two great sacraments of the Faith are invited to come along to Cathedral House on Tuesday 12th January 7.30-8.30pm. It is very important that we are given an idea of how many children intend to progress in these Sacraments so that the programme can be tailored to their numbers and their needs. PTA There is a PTA meeting next Wednesday evening from 6pm. As parents, you are automatically a member of the PTA and this is a great opportunity to meet other parents, suggest fundraising ideas and have your say on how the funds are spent. Everyone is welcome and we hope to see many of you there.

Holiday dates 2016/2017 The holiday dates have been emailed, if you haven’t received one please come and see me in the school office. Please note that from September, school will close at 1.30 at the end of each term.

Welcome Back! May I take this opportunity to wish you a very happy and prosperous 2016 and thank you, on behalf of the staff for the many lovely cards and gifts we received at Christmas.

Football If your child plays football at lunch time and you would like them to wear trainers, they may do so. Please ensure that the trainers are labelled in a plastic bag and that your child comes to school in their black school shoes.

Attendance There have been some queries regarding attendance reports for last term. With regards to the floods and power cuts, children who were not in school Monday must, by law, have the absence recorded as such, even though absence due to the power cut/travel arrangements was authorised and has not prevented them from getting their gold attendance star. Due to school being officially closed on the Tuesday and Wednesday, children are not reported as absent. I hope this clears up any confusion.

Volunteers We are looking for parent volunteers to come into school and help out. This may involve helping children to complete their work or listening to the children read. The teachers and teaching assistants work very hard and your help would be gratefully received. If this is something you would like to do please come and see Miss Abbott in the school office.
