Lomeshaye Life What a fantastic half term we have had! The children have been involved in some amazing learning and have had many wonderful experiences to enhance their work over the half term such as visiting theatres, working with high schools and working with our creative partner to name but a few. Read on to find out about what has been happening this week and what is planned for after half term. Year 3 Performance and Fairy Tale House Building—our Year 3 pupils have been working so hard this half term on their “Once Upon a Time” theme in school. This has involved learning about traditional tales and writing their own stories. The children have also worked with our creative partner, Nicole, to develop their speaking, listening and writing skills. On Thursday the Year 3 classes put on a spectacular performance for their parents. It was a play that included many traditional stories, such as Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk and Little Red Riding Hood. The acting skills and confidence of the children was outstanding and the performance that they gave entertained and amused the audience. Not only have these pupils been working on stories and acting they have also had a fabulous homework task set to design and make their own fairy tale house. The efforts of the children, and those that helped at home, were phenomenal and prizes have been given to all that took part. Have a look at these photographs from the play and the house building, the children have had so much fun!
Learning theme after half term—The whole school are going to take part in a whole school learning theme that includes lots of art work. This theme will be called “Every Picture Tells a Story.”
