Thank you to all our parents and carers who attended our Mothers’ Day lunches this week. It was certainly a popular event and I know the children enjoyed it immensely. We also celebrated World Book Day on Thursday and I have posted some pictures on Twitter, which is now linked to our website, so you can also view the photos from there.

On a personal note, I would like to thank you for your congratulations and kind messages. I am absolutely delighted and honoured to be appointed Headteacher from Easter and I am looking forward to continuing to work with you all in the future.

World Book Day was celebrated in style at Reydon Primary on Thursday, as the staff and children dressed as famous book characters. There were dinosaurs, fairies, witches, astronauts, superheroes, princesses and cowboys to name but a few. Mr Hedges even managed to dress as several characters all at the same time!

Staff dressed as characters from Alice in Wonderland in Key Stage 1 and even held a Mad Hatter’s tea party in the afternoon. They kindly invited the Queen of Hearts to share their jam tarts, as long as she promised not to behead anyone!

Mothers’ Day Lunches

Charlotte from Library Services came to read the children some of her favourite stories in assembly and at the end of the day, children chose from a range of stories to listen to, in various locations around the school.

Easter Egg Raffle The friends of Reydon Primary are organising an Easter Egg Raffle to be held during assembly on Tuesday 22nd March. They would be grateful for any donations of Easter eggs or other chocolate goodies to be brought into school ready for the 22nd. Thank you to those parents who have already donated prizes. Raffle squares have gone home in book bags with a price of 20p for each square that you would like to purchase. Funds raised for the school will go towards our library refurbishment. Thank you for your support.

Reception and Key Stage 1 invited their parents and carers to school for a Mothers’ Day lunch on Thursday. It was lovely to see so many and we are looking forward to welcoming our Key Stage 2 parents on Friday.
