It has been a very short half term, or at least it feels like it! We have had several visitors into school, both from our governing body, parents and Active Learning Trust. Without exception, they have commented on the calmness and excellent learning behaviour of all the children and the children’s enthusiasm when talking about their school. The progress that the children are making in their writing has also been noticeable and we are delighted that there is such a strong work ethic in classes. The staff at Reydon are very proud and privileged to work with such a delightful group of children and we look forward to welcoming them back after half term.

Class Attendance Award Well done to Year 6 who are our attendance winners again this week.

School Shoes After half-term, please could you ensure that your child is in black school shoes rather than boots. If the weather is bad they may, of course, bring their shoes in a bag to change into. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Topic Fair

Important Dates for the Diary

It was lovely to see so many of our families at the Topic Fair on Thursday. The children really enjoyed the opportunity to demonstrate their learning and the examples of writing demonstrated the high quality work that the children are producing as a result of Talk for Writing. The children in Reception also enjoyed the opportunity of sharing their work in their Open Afternoon.

Year 2 Raise Money for Africa Daisy and her friends in Year 2 organised a cake sale, during the Topic Fair, to raise money for children in Africa. Following a Topic lesson, Daisy was so moved by their plight, in some of the poorest areas in the world, that she decided something needed to be done. Daisy and her friends then asked for donations of cakes and other goodies to sell. When Daisy counted up the money, they had received the considerable sum of £100.

Daisy received a certificate in assembly on Friday in recognition of her amazing charity work. Thank you to those parents who donated cakes to sell and to those who bought them!
