The children at Reydon Primary have been out and about this week, with Year 5 visiting the Beccles Free School, Year 2 going to Norwich Cathedral and then taking part in a Skittleball competition on Friday. We are very proud of the fact that all the children involved in trips this week have shown what intelligent, well-behaved and curious children we have at Reydon Primary. We look forward to taking more of our children out within the local area and giving them the opportunity to extend their learning outside the classroom.

Our Mother’s Day lunches have proved very popular next week and unfortunately we are unable to take any further orders. Sorry for any inconvenience.

World Book Day

It is World Book Day on Thursday 3 March and amongst lots of book-related fun activities, we will be encouraging the children to come to school dressed as a book character.

Alternatively, children may come in their school uniform if they prefer.

Year 2 Visit Norwich Cathedral

Year 2 had a lovely day at Norwich Cathedral on Thursday where they learned lots of information about Christianity and the story of Edith Cavell.

First, the children were given a tour of the Cathedral to find out more about the symbols of Christianity and the features of the Cathedral. They were then told the sad and heroic story of Edith Cavell, a local nurse who helped allied prisoners escape during the First World War and was eventually shot by the Germans.

Cospace Programming

The children were real ambassadors for the school and their teachers were very proud of their behaviour. Thanks to Miss Church for organising the trip, as well as the staff and parents who supported the children on the day.

Easter Egg Raffle The friends of Reydon Primary are organising an Easter Egg Raffle to be held during assembly on Tuesday 22nd March. They would be grateful for any donations of Easter eggs or other chocolate goodies to be brought into school ready for the 22nd. Raffle squares will be going home in book bags with a price of 20p for each square that you would like to purchase. Funds raised for the school will go towards our library refurbishment. Thank you for your support.

Some of Year 5 travelled to Beccles Free School on Tuesday where the Beccles students taught them to develop their programming skills using Cospace. The program allows children to develop their computing skills in a fun and competitive way which finished with a robot race against their classmates. The winners were Lazar and Jacob who scored 245 points. The children had a great time and demonstrated all the Reydon 5Rs. The children hope to return during the summer term to complete their work.
