Early Years Foundation Stage 

Each child has an EYFS profile detailing whether they are are working at ‘emerging’, ‘expected’ or ‘exceeding’ level within the 40-60+ months age band.



If a child achieves the ‘expected’ level then they are achieving their Early Learning Goals.

KLIPS The

KLIPS are used for termly assessments, to help teachers make a best-fit judgement as to whether a child is ‘on-track’ to achieve that year group’s expectations These assessments are then used to track children’s progress and to inform parents of their child’s progress.

Working Towards Year Group Expectations

Making good progress is like building a wall, not drawing a line. Where there are gaps, progress will be unstable. This is where we try to ‘fill the gaps’ with interventions.

‘Tests’ 

2016 new tests at KS1 (Y2) and KS2 (Y6)



Attainment will be measured by a scaled score, where 100 represents the national standard.



The exact standard of each test will not be available until after the first tests have taken place in summer 2016



No extension papers (eg. Level 6) but range of challenge will be included in all papers.

Key Stage one • May 2016, marked by class teachers and forming part of the statutory teacher assessment.

• KS1 Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling - 2 papers – Spelling (about 13 mins) - Grammar, Punctuation and Vocabulary (20 mins) 

KS1 Reading: 2 papers



KS1 Maths: 2 papers – Arithmetic (20mins) - Reasoning and Problem Solving (35 mins)

Key Stage 2 Tests • 9th – 12th May 2016 • KS2 Reading: 1 paper (60 mins) • KS2 GPS (45 mins) • KS2 Spelling (15mins) • KS2 Maths: 3 papers - Arithmetic (30mins) - 2 Reasoning papers (40 mins) • KS2 Writing – Teacher assessed
