Maximum Curriculum! Last Thursday, Zebras class performed a spectacular class assembly. Their theme this half term was ‘See You Later Gladiator!’ a study of The Romans and their impact on life in Britain. They managed to cram ten different subjects into this fantastic celebration of learning. The children thoroughly enjoyed performing to their audience seated in a Roman amphitheatre. Another example of learning by our school motto: Inspire, Enjoy, Achieve. Well done Zebras!

Y6 Cadbury Trip On Tuesday morning, the Y6 Lions and Leopards had to be in school by 8:30am for a very special reason – we were going to Cadbury’s World in Birmingham. After a two and a half hour journey we finally arrived at our destination. Everyone was so excited to get off the coach and eat chocolate!! When we walked inside the huge factory the teachers scanned their tickets and we all got freebies: Curly Wurly, Crunchie and Dairy Milk. The first exhibition we saw was the Origin of Chocolate. Continuing our tour we saw a mini movie of how Cadbury came to be so popular today. Following that there was another presentation about how they make chocolate featuring: shaking chairs, gusts of compressed air and heaters. Next we toured the amazing factory and learned how they package the chocolate. Finally, we went into the 4D Experience which was great fun! It was a fantastic trip and our behaviour was excellent as usual. (Keifron and Emily Y6) Football News A big well done to all the children who have represented the school in the football competitions this half term! Our year 5/6 team reached the final and finish 3rd out of all primary schools in Skelmersdale! Our infant team enjoyed the trip out despite the horrendous weather! Well done to all the children who took part.

MAD ABOUT OUR CHURCH CHRIST THE SERVANT DIGMOOR Our school, Bishop Martin Church of England Primary, has the opportunity to enjoy the community link with our local church. This has been through School Christmas Performances, School Assemblies, Anniversaries, Summer Fairs, Pantos and much more. Last November our church was informed they needed the roof fixed with a matter of urgency. This led to parishioners starting to fund raise by holding Prize Bingos, completing Dry January, organising a Sponsored Cycle Ride etc. Our school decided that with all the help the church has given us in the past by raising money for our playground equipment and values walk we wanted to repay the generosity. On Tuesday 9th February the children and staff came to school with a selection of mad hair styles. As it was Shrove Tuesday (Pancake day) we also sold pancakes for break. Thank you very much to all who supported us we raised £175. If you would like to help Christ the Servant Church please go to https://www.justgiving.com/christtheservantdigmoor
