A Word from the Head..

Dear Parents and Carers Already we are at the end of our first term this academic year and it gives me great pleasure to write this article for the Tettenhall Wood School Newsletter. There have been so many highlights already that makes me a very proud Head Teacher!

At the very beginning of the term two of our pupils visited France to represent school on the Centenary Battlefield Tour to which all schools across the country were invited. They had an amazing experience and brought so many memories back to school. The also went to Wolves to the Remembrance Match on the 7th November to share their experiences.

Thank you to Ben Calendar, Matthew Worrell and to the staff Kate and Kari for supporting them.

We took the whole school to Drayton Manor Park at the end of September. I was slightly apprehensive agreeing to this as taking over a 100 children out of school does give you a few butterflies but have to say the experience was amazing. All the pupils had a great day and apart from me having to overcome my fears of going on rides (which I did), it was wonderful.

Another highlight was the filming of “Something Special” at school and having the pleasure of Mr Tumble and the BBC for the whole day. Umardev and Jayden were amazing in the filming. I have to say I would not like to work in TV; by the time we were asked to blow dry the sand dry because it was too wet I had to step away! I am sure the show will be brilliant in the New Year.

This year has seen a real focus on Work Related Learning and all the pupils have been involved in making products for the Christmas period. Some great work has been produced with really meaningful outcomes.

The Christmas celebrations have been a delight to experience with such hard work by both pupils and staff. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to you for all your support and hope you have enjoyed this time of year. Also a big thank you to the team here for their dedication and hard work – it makes such a difference!

In January we welcome Jen Anslow as our new class teacher for Swallows and Maggie Rafiqi who is in Ladybirds as Class Teacher whilst Amy leaves to have her baby. We wish them every success and Amy - hope you have wonderful break and enjoy your new family.

I wish you all every happiness for 2016 and peace this Christmas time.

A visit from ‘Someone’ Special.

I had fun with Justin umardev came with me. I called for mr tumble I played in the sand. I am going to be on tv next year I love Justin.

Umardev and Justin played in the water. I cant wait to be on tv . I love being on tv.

I been outside the playground and had fun with jayden and Justin. I was trying to play with the water. I been to the sensory garden with jayden. Mr tumble put the umbrella hat inside mr tumbles spotty bag. When he went away he said bye.

Primary Christmas Production In the play I was dancing to the happy song.

I wore a dress that made me look like big mamma.

I knew my lines without my paper.

All the kids were wearing a costume and sang the songs. I was happy.

Drayton Manor On September 30th 2015 the school went to Drayton manor.

The big children went on ben 10, g- force and maelstrom. The little children went to Thomas land and it had 3 new rides and a new restaurant toby’s tram express, Flynn’s fire rescue, captain’s sea adventure and sodor airport.

Some went to the zoo. Some liked stormforce 10 but some did not liked apocalypse. They had a great time and thank you happy days for a grand day out.

Thomas Walsh I went to Drayton manor and I went to: the ben 10 ride but I was too small for shockwave.

Harvest Assembly Harvest assemdly We collected food for the well There was lots. We sang the Harvest samba and other classes did cauliflowers fluffy.

James Beattie House I went to James Beattie House to Meet Santa I recieved chocolates And also don’t forget to eat my Cadbury’s Chomp a biscuit bar filled with a caramel flavoured centre and covered with milk chocolate We did some singing and we saw the old people from the 1980’s we went to a walk in the Avenue Park.

Children In Need 2015 On 13th of November 2015 tettenhall wood school did children in need. They did many things like running, jumping on the trampoline, dancing and the song was whip, PE and they did rowing machine, football and shooting, circuits and they did 4 laps and the lower class went swimming.

Everyone have to wear sports clothes. Children in need aired on the BBC in the night and everyone in school had a good time.

Enterprise week

Pupils from Tettenhall Wood School have been working very hard during enterprise week (30/11/15—2/12/15).

We was trying to make Christmas things because its December. We made sock snowman. They are fun. We wanted to get some money. Lots of ÂŁ1.

Its getting snowy. We are dragonflies.

Enterprise week was a special week.

The pupils had to make Christmas food, reindeers and snowman to sell at school after the Christmas shows on Wednesday 16th December 2015 and It was a success. Falcons made a company called falcons festive fancies and made reindeer noses and chocolate sprinkles. And I think you will have a merry Christmas and an happy new year.

The Tempest

Macmillan coffee morning In September we had a Macmillan coffee morning. We had to wear green and bake cakes. Parents and visitors was inviting to coffee day to buy cakes in our new eco room. It ended in the afternoon and had a great time.

France trip Me and Matthew whent in to the birger shop with karri and kate we had a chat aboute what we wonted in the birgershop and after woods whent in to the choklat shop to get my mom and dad and my bruther a gift and then we whent back to flanders lodge to have are dinner and then it was time to go to bed.

The next day we had are breakfast we wacht the guys blow trumpits the trumpits where to repsent the soldiers who dide in the war me and Matthew whent into a museum and we lukt at the models I was prenting that I was a german and I put a sword to a good soldiers face I allso looked at the bullits that thay youst in wold war one and I looked at a big gun. The next day it was time to pack our bags and then we got back on the coach but we where a little late coming back because they had benn an accident in the train tunnels.
