This is always a long term and is often made worse with the clocks changing and the onset of the dark nights. Two key events stick in my mind this term– the harvest festival and the support that the school was able to provide for a local food bank, the other being celebration evening, which was as always a wonderful evening, and for me my favourite event in the school year. The evening was very well supported with around 130 families, friends and people who have worked with school throughout the year. It was wonderful to be able to recognise and reward the achievements that pupils have made throughout the year. Without a doubt the highlight of the evening was the performance of Romeo and Juliet by pupils from the 14-19 phase. All present, were very positive and are looking forward to the full performance which will be put on at school next term. At the time of writing this the spirit of Christmas has
arrived at school and is evident throughout the school. Everyone enjoyed the Christmas jumper day on 13th December—I never realised there were so many different designs! As always we had a lovely carol service at the united reformed church and it was pleasing to see the support the pupils received from families and friends.
Our term finishes with a carol service at school on Friday 20th December and I hope you will be able to join pupils for this. May I take this opportunity to wish you and your family a restful and enjoyable Christmas.
