Once again, we have welcomed parents into school this week for our Parent Cafés and the Year 6 SATs information evening. It means a lot to us that you are so willing to support the school and your children’s learning whenever you can and I know the children appreciate being able to share part of their school day with you.

As a working parent myself, I appreciate that this is sometimes difficult to manage, but please be assured that we are always happy to talk through your child’s learning at a time convenient to you.

Class Attendance Award Well done to Year 6 who are our attendance winners this week.

Pancake Day A special Pancake Day menu will be served on Tuesday 9th February. This will be cheese and tomato pizza with chips and sweetcorn, followed by pancakes, ice-cream and raspberry sauce.

Bingo Night

Important Dates for the Diary

Thank you to all the members of our school community who came to the Bingo on Friday night.

Over one hundred people came and a great family night’s entertainment was had by all. The event raised well over £700 for the school and we must say a huge thank you to the Friends of Reydon Primary and to other members of our school community who made it such a resounding success, particularly Day, our Bingo caller, Fiona, our Bingo ‘official’ and Donna, who did all the catering. A big thank you too, to all of you who donated such fantastic prizes!

Basketball Tournament

Well done to our Year 6 Basketball team who came joint third in a Lowestoft Schools competition this week at Worlingham Primary. We only lost one match against the eventual winners and showed great resilience and teamwork.

News As many of you will have read, Andrea Hall will be leaving as Executive Head at Easter, following a very successful year, in which Reydon Primary has moved from strength to strength. If you have any concerns, or questions, please do not hesitate to contact her on office@reydonprimary.org

Topic Fair This half-term’s topic fair will take place on Thursday 11th February at 3pm in the hall. Please come along to share the children’s learning which has had a geographical focus.

As we cannot supervise all the children in the Hall at the same time, please collect them from their classroom if you would like them to accompany you around the display. If you could then return them to the class for the end of the day, we would be very grateful. They are very excited to show you their work!

Parents of children in Reception are invited to an Open Afternoon on the 11th at 2.45pm too which will take place in their classroom.

Daisy in Year 2 has also organised a cake stall, during the Topic Fair, with the money raised going to support children in Africa.

Some left-over uniform stock will be on sale, including embroidered white polo shirts, scarves, gloves and beanie hats – all at discounted prices!
