We are delighted with the way that the term is progressing and the attitude of the children to their learning. A recent visitor to the school commented on the excellent learning behaviours demonstrated during lessons by the children using the Reydon 5Rs of resourcefulness, resilience, relationships, risk taking and reflection.

We are so proud of their efforts with their learning and particularly in the way they have embraced Talk 4 Writing. It is wonderful to see children so enthusiastic about telling stories and then writing them. The quality of the writing has also seen some significant improvements and we look forward to sharing this work with you.

Class Attendance Award Well done to Year 1 who are our attendance winners this week.

SATs Information Evening Year 6 parents are invited to a SATs information evening on Tuesday 2nd February to find out more about the tests that their children will be taking in May. This will be in the Year 6 classroom at 6pm.

Bingo Night

Important Dates for the Diary

The response to the Bingo evening has been fantastic and we have sold over 100 tickets! A big thank you to all the parents who have donated prizes and to the local businesses who have also donated some brilliant prizes including a meal at the Brudenell in Aldeburgh, a meal at the Swan and a £25 voucher from Adnams.

We are looking forward to seeing so many of you there. Eyes down for a full house!

Parking The school has received a complaint from a local resident about the parking situation at the beginning and end of the day. Please may we remind you that cars should not be parked in front of drives or drop down kerbs. Thank you for your cooperation and consideration in this matter.

Parent Cafés A number of Parent Cafés have been arranged over the next two weeks to give parents the opportunity to share in their children’s learning, whilst having a cup of tea.

This is a chance to see some of the learning activities that take place during lessons and to chat informally with the teacher. Many classes will be focusing on Guided Reading and will hopefully provide some useful tips as to how you can support your child at home. We hope to see you there!

Governors meeting

BBC 500 Words All the children in our school are being encouraged to write a 500 word (or less) story that we can enter in the BBC 500 Words Challenge. We are going to be hosting an inner school competition, as well as in inner hub competition between ALT schools in which there will be winners and prizes per key stage. Entries must be typed, and be an original, fictional story.

Entries need to be in by Friday, 12th February, 2016 at noon in order to be judged. We are so pleased with all the progress the children have been making in their writing and we are keen to read the entries!
