Year 4 Spring A Curriculum News Happy New Year! The first half of the Spring Term is set to be a busy one for everyone in Year 4, it’s a new year and it is set to filled with lots of exciting challenges and learning lots of new facts and skills. Numeracy Over the half term, we will be covering:  Place Value, Counting and Calculating  Fractions

A weekly focus will be given to ‘Using & Applying’ the children’s new and developed skills into different areas of the curriculum.

Literacy Over the half term, the children will be covering:  Phonics & Spelling  Fiction: Story in Narrative Verse  Reading for meaning and purpose 

Children will also be given the opportunity to write in a range of styles across the curriculum.

Please help your child to learn their multiplication and division facts up to 12 x 12.

Please read with your child every night and complete your child’s Reading Log.

Water Bottle Water bottles are encouraged to ensure that children are kept hydrated throughout the school day.

PE Timetable PE for this half term is timetabled for WEDNESDAY morning and THURSDAY afternoon.

Please ensure the water bottles are taken home and washed on a daily basis. Targets Targets are given on both a group and individual basis – these targets have been written with your child and are in an area which they need to improve and continue their learning and achievement. If you have any questions or queries, or your child is worried about anything – please arrange to come and see me at the beginning or the end of the school day.
