Primary PE Sport Grant Impact report 2014-15 Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport they offer.

Objectives of spending PPSG: - To continue to improve the quality of PE provision at Ladybridge Primary School. - To continue to increase the confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport. - To increase pupil participation in competitive sport. - To promote greater engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity (kick-starting healthy active lifestyles). - To broaden the sporting opportunities and experiences available to pupils. - To develop a love of sport and physical activity.

SPORTS COACHING ‘Premier Sports’ coach to work alongside teachers (10hrs across the year) across the whole PE curriculum. (2days/wk x 34 wks x 1 coach) EXTRA-CURRICULAR CLUB ‘Premier Sports’ to provide a coach to run KS1 football club for 20 pupils.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR CLUB ‘Premier Sports’ to provide a coach to run a multi-skills club for G&T pupils.

To provide teachers with modelled best PE practice, teaching ideas and show skills progression; Ensure teachers are confident and competent to deliver high quality PE.

To develop younger pupils interest in sport; To increase participation in competitive sport; To positively influence pupils’ subsequent choices to engage in more physical activity (eg. try other sports, join external teams/clubs). To provide pupils who are Gifted and Talented at sport, with expert coaching. To prepare (and refine sporting knowledge and understanding) pupils for competitive sport eg. tactics, positons, etc.

EXERCISE HABITS Premier Sports’ to oversee the ‘Golden Mile’ programme in KS2.

To promote regular daily exercise and for pupils to understand what this includes (and encourage pupils to form healthy exercise habits).

COMPETITIONS ’Premier Sports’ to provide support with access to increased competitive sport.

For pupils to have access to increased/ additional competitions within school and against other schools.

Teachers feel more confident when planning, delivering and evaluating PE. PE lessons have been of a consistently high standard, with positive pupil attitudes, and pupils progressing well. KS1 pupils very positive about sport and keen to participate in the club (over-subscribed). 100% of the Y2 pupils who attended have put their names down for KS2 football club in Sept 15. Pupils developed a high level of skill, with many utilising this in school teams and sports clubs externally eg. 2 x pupils attending athletics club; Dodgeball and Basketball competitions against other schools. Pupils enjoyed walking, running and skipping the ‘golden mile’. Y5 pupils organised and recorded pupils exercise habits, and used these to support and motivate pupils further. Pupils participated in a greater number of competitions within school, including athletics, dodgeball, badminton, cricket and tennis.
