You will have noticed our Christmas trees are now up in the hall and in the reception area outside the office. We are starting to feel very festive and the children have begun rehearsals for our play ‘Christmas Around the World’. The songs are very catchy and I am sure it will be a while before I stop humming them myself! Please continue to follow our letters, texts and newsletters closely as there will be lots of events happening over the next two weeks.

Friday 4th December

Badminton Tournament Well done to our Year 5 Badminton team who took part in a Suffolk Schools Partnership tournament last week. Our girls pair, (Amber and Charlotte) played extremely well, winning three of their games and finishing in third place.

The boys pair (Lazar and Lawrence) won five out of their six games and finished runners-up. All the children will be presented with their certificates in Monday’s assembly.

We are extremely proud of all of them, not just for their badminton skills, but also because of the way they conducted themselves. They were a credit to Reydon Primary School.

Well done!

Art Days 7th and 8th December We are very much looking forward to our Art days next week. Thank you to all our parents who have offered help or have sent in the items we have asked for. I am looking forward to seeing the results of the children’s hard work and sharing it with you.

Please could you ensure that the children wear old clothes on Monday and Tuesday, not their school uniforms, as it could get messy! Thank you for your support.

Football Success This is a picture of our Year 3 football team, who were runners-up in the Active Learning Trust tournament last week, with their certificates. Well done!

Christmas Jumper day.

Monday 4th January – PD Day Tuesday 5th January – Children return to school Friday 8th January – PD Day. Friday 29th January – The Friends of Reydon Primary Family Bingo night at the Pavilion, Southwold Common at 6pm.

Topic Fair – A Step Back in Time Our second Topic Fair will be taking place on Thursday 10th December at 2.30pm. Please come along to see what the children have been learning. They are very excited to share their Topic work for this half term with you, which has focussed on various historical periods. We look forward to seeing you then.

Well done to Lily in Year 6 and Charlie in Year 5 who shared their Bowls success with us in assembly. Here they are with the trophies they received at the weekend.

Whatever the Weather A big thank you to the Friends of Reydon Primary, who have kindly donated puddlesuits and wellies to our Reception children to enable them to access the outdoor area in all weathers. They have proved very useful recently!

Christmas Post Box The Christmas post box will be in use next week for children to post their cards to their teachers and friends in school.

These will then be distributed after lunch each day.

Please could you ensure the cards have the child’s name written clearly on the front with either the class name or year. Unfortunately, our elves are not able to deliver to nannies, grandads, aunts and uncles etc!

Letters to Father Christmas will be forwarded to the North Pole.
