Dear Parents and Carers, It gives me great pleasure to write this article for the Tettenhall Wood School Newsletter. I have had the most amazing term since joining the school in September as Headteacher. It has been such a joy getting to know all of your children. I have also had the opportunity to meet many of you, so thank you for your support this term whilst I am finding my feet! The staff team at school have been so welcoming and pleasure to work with and although I am looking forward to spending a little time with my own family over the Christmas period I am keen to get to January in order to continue to the school forward. It has been a busy term here at school. The main highlight for me has been watching the children settle into their new classes. I have had the pleasure of teaching in Deer class and getting to know the young people really well. We had a Mad about Maths week and a number of you were able to join us on the Friday which I know you really enjoyed. There are plenty more opportunities for you to come into school after Christmas. I have also been impressed with the children’s participation in activities such as Forest School, Children in Need, Shakespeare Schools Festival to name but a few. This week has also seen the wonderful productions for Christmas! I would like to take this opportunity to wish Katie Reid the class teacher for Caterpillars every happiness in her new career at Hollywood Primary School. I also welcome our new staff to

the team Kari Anson, Kate Taylor, Adrian Gray and Elaine Etchalls. Nad Iqbal who has joined our site service team and Katherine Jones and Helen Tremayne who will join us as class teachers from this coming January. For January we will be moving forward with the Introduction of Holiday Clubs and development of After School Care. We are also in the process of updating the School Website so information should be more readily available. I hope you have seen an improvement in communication and are getting text reminders as promised. Please know that myself or Helen Masters are available should you need to see us for any reason so do not hesitate to get in contact. As 2014 draws to a close I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all peace this Christmas time and every happiness for 2015. The very best of wishes

Sarah Llewellyn
