Girls Football Tournament On Tuesday 10th November it was the turn of the Bishop Martin Girls to take part in the West Lancashire School Sports Partnership Liverpool Cup football tournament. 10 schools took part and were split into 2 groups. Bishop Martin played against Delphside, Woodland, Hillside and Trinity. They beat Delphside, Woodland, Hillside and lost to Trinity. This meant that they made it through to the semi-final against St. Edmunds. The girls won their semi-final and played in a fantastic final against Trinity. Unfortunately the girls lost in the final but they all played really well and should be very proud of their achievement. A special mention has to go to Molly for scoring 11 goals!! Well done girls! Team: Louise, Molly, Eva, Darcie, Caitlin, Ruby, Shaunna and Aimee-Louise Global Renewables Y6 had Global renewables in for the third and final step of their workshops! Christine inspired our children to make a change at home and in school. The children worked in groups to develop an action plan for a way to reduce, reuse or recycle in our school environment! They are really enthusiastic about their projects and want to email their proposals to Mrs Gray! Watch this space! At the end of our session, Christine showed us how to make a gift bag by reusing newspaper and plastic carrier bags. Christine was SO impressed with the children's manners and enthusiasm! Did you know? Research shows that children are more successful in school when a parent supports their learning at home. Oxford Owl is packed with expert advice, top tips and activity ideas so you can help your child with reading and maths. http://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/ This site gives parents and children access to hundreds of free and interactive resources such as e-books, times table games and tips for parents.
