Funeral Poverty. Research is showing that this is becoming an issue for many people. The Bishop asked that I prepare an advice sheet to be issued through all the parishes in the diocese. This has been done through my Vicariate and a copy is with these notices. There are some spare copies at the back of church should you know anyone who would like a copy.

Years 5 & 6 will be attending Tuesday’s Mass and staying for silent prayer and devotions until 10.00am.

Patrick Butler died on 1st November. May he rest in peace. Please pray for his soul and for Mary and the family. I will let you know his funeral details once I know them.

Advent Calendars, Advent Candles, Advent Books and Christmas cards are available on the piety stall.

Holy Souls Envelopes are in the narthex. Please put your donation together with the list of names you wish to be remembered at all the Masses during November and return your envelope to Church. The names will be placed in our Holy Souls box and kept on the Altar during November.

The Bishop, through Caritas, is putting together a Diocesan response to the pending refugee crisis. He is asking that every parish has a nominated person to act as the parish representative in assisting with the help/information to be given/shared in the event of this affecting our Diocese more than it already does. If you are interested please speak with Fr. Glover.

Christmas Fayre. Saturday 21st November at 2.00pm. Please help stock the stalls by bringing to Church Tinned and Dried foods, Bric a Brac, Tombola prizes, Toys, Cosmetics and Toiletries, Bottles, Books. If you are happy to bake cakes for the cake stall these may be brought the day before the fayre or on the day itself. If you need you tine returning please put your name on it.

Christmas Draw Tickets are now available in the narthex, please take some to buy and to sell. 1 st Prize £100 2nd prize £50 3rd prize £25 plus others. If you wish to donate one of prizes please indicate which on the notice in the narthex.

Many parishioners took part in or supported the “Big Sleep Out” organised by Cornerstone earlier this year to fund their cold weather night service over the winter months. Cornerstone are now ready to recruit volunteers to support the project and are seeking adults who can commit to working alongside a staff member throughout the waking night to ensure the safety and comfort of individuals who might otherwise be sleeping rough. If you’re interested in finding out more please contact Cornerstone on 0161 232 8888.

Please note that the wall safe near the church door is now for youth missions and the wall safe above the piety stall is for piety money should not one be available for you to hand it to.

St. Anne’s Book of Remembrance. At the Noon Mass on the first Saturday of each month I shall place “The Book of Remembrance” on the altar and the Mass will be offered for the souls of all those whose names are contained in the book. If you wish the name/s of members of your family recording in the book please complete one of the slips that are available in the Narthex and return it to Fr. Glover with your donation. This will mean that your loved ones will be remembered at Mass each month, in addition to the masses you would normally ask to be offered on their anniversary or in memory of their birthday.

Going into hospital? Don’t forget to inform Fr. Glover on 740 2448 who will advise the Catholic Chaplain or call the chaplain Fr. Matus on 834 4104.

Places in our school. It is essential that any catholic parent who wishes their child to have a place at our school registers them as soon as possible. PLEASE DO NOT WAIT UNTIL YOUR CHILD IS READY TO GO TO SCHOOL as you may find a place isn’t available. If you haven’t registered your child even if a place is available your child’s name and offer of a place will not have been passed to the local education authority by the school and subsequently a place at a non catholic school may well be offered.

Prayer Group Monday 7.30pm until 8.30pm at 151 Wilton Road.

Divine Mercy Prayer Group meets in church every third Sunday of the month 3.00pm until 4.00pm.

The Candle at the Shrine of Our Lady burns as a silent prayer for the deceased members of the McGeown family.
