OCTOBER NEWSLETTER 2015 Stop Press……. Check out our amazing new website……. www.ryeprimary.co.uk…… Keep updated…….. Stop Press Hello, Many exciting events have ensured that all our pupils are engaged in their learning, as always, I thank you for your support in enabling your children to ‘dress the part’. It certainly brings their learning alive! Reading will be an ongoing focus for us this year, and since it has such an impact on a child’s vocabulary, and learning. We know that by developing a child’s reading skills we will also be giving them an improved voice as writers. It is because of this we have set some ‘rules’ for our Friday Snuggle Buggle, Chrysalis Capers and Words with Wings. Many parents and carers attended our meeting in September to explain these, however some people could not attend and to those of you who found out about the changes when attending for the first time, I apologise. I must say that the changes have been welcomed by children, teachers and visitors alike, who have been grateful to be able to enjoy these sessions with a clear focus on reading. Please see the copy of the new rules on the following pages and thank you to all those who have been supporting them. Jane Howard Headteacher Reminder - Please look at our Diary Dates attached and always come and talk to us We would like to remind you all that we do not authorise holiday during term time, unless it is for exceptional circumstances. If you need to take your child out of school during term time, you must complete an ‘Request for Absence Form’ at least 14 days prior to the date of absence.
Attendance Percentages since September 2015 Thank you for your support last year in raising attendance. We are constantly trying to improve our attendance which remains below the national average and thank the new PTA for their funding support in giving the winning class £10 each week to bank for their own financial management decisions. We will therefore publish the class percentages on each newsletter for your information. Please help us by ensuring your child attends school at all times unless they are too ill to do so.
