What qualification will I get?

GCSE Core Science GCSE Additional Science The Triple science option groups will get three separate GCSE grades; GCSE Biology, GCSE Chemistry, and GCSE Physics.

How will I be assessed?

Current Year 10 and Year 11: You will be assessed through three externally assessed examinations of one hour each for CORE Science, and three externally assessed examinations of one hour each for ADDITIONAL Science-a total of six exams for CORE and ADDITIONAL. Each exam is worth 25% of the final grade. The other 25% is taken up with coursework. The Triple Group will sit a further three one hour examinations to complete the course, making a total of nine, 1 hour exams.

Year 9: Will be assessed in 2018 by exam only, coursework will no longer be part of the exam grade-practical skills will be assessed within the exams.

What can this course lead to?

This course can lead to A Level Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Electronics, PE, Psychology. They could lead to vocational courses such as animal husbandry, nursing, mechanics or engineering. This in turn could lead to a massive variety of careers including; Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Veterinary Science, Laboratory work, Forensic Science, Pharmacy, Archaeology, Environmental work, Chemical Industry, Research, and many others.
