Welfare Harvest Collection On Monday we are asking children to bring in their donations to Cornerstones for the Harvest Mass. In exchange for donations of tins and dried food (unopened and in date please) children may wear non uniform. Key Stage 2 children will take the donations over to Church on Monday afternoon.

Safeguarding If you have any concerns about your child and another child/ren in school please make the class teacher, or me, aware of them. It is not acceptable for parents to confront other children on the playground about issues in or out of school .

Parents Meetings End of ½ term Parents Meetings with teachers begin next week. If you have not yet been given a time please see your child’s teacher.

Homework Club Homework runs on a Tuesday and Wednesday after school until 3.40pm. Children who attend must have homework to do. Please ensure that all children attending home worked are picked up on time from the Year 3 external classroom door Afterschool Club Due to Safeguarding training there will be no afterschool club on Thursday 19 th September.

Holiday Dates We finish for ½ term on Friday 23rd October at 3pm and return to school on Monday 2nd November. The Christmas break begins on Friday 18th December at 1pm. There is no afterschool club that day and children must be picked up on time.

Parent Workshop - ESOL School will be holding family language course for parents beginning on Monday morning. The course starts at 9.15am and runs until 11.15 every Monday until December. Please see the posters displayed around school or speak to the office staff for more information.

OFSTED 2013: ST Anne’s is a good school!

Thank you to the parents who turned up for the taster session on Wednesday. It was a wonderful turn out. The calendar of events continues this Wednesday at 1pm, please try to be on time as lateness will disrupt the session.

Welcome Newsletters by e mail We now have over 100 parent’s email addresses, enabling us to send newsletters electronically. This is an excellent way of ensure you receive the latest information from school. If you have not yet given your email to the school office please send it in on a piece of paper with your child’s name and class. Please print your email address carefully so that the office can read it easily.

Worship Harvest Mass Please come along and join us at Mass on Tuesday 13th October at 9.10am. The Harvest Mass is always a lovely way to celebrate the generosity of all our families as we collect donations to the Cornerstones Charity.

Friday 16th October Year 4 Class Mass Please join us in the school hall for the Year 4 Class Mass next Friday. The children are always very proud of their school Class Masses and would love to see parents and visitors celebrating Mass with them.

Witness Congratulations to our chaplaincy team and sports leaders who have received their new uniforms today. These children have been spoken to about embracing the gospel values we follow in their roles as school leaders. May God guide them and give them the strength to excel as leaders here at St Anne’s. God bless children!

Sacramental Programme The next sacramental meeting and Mass is on Saturday and Sunday 17th and 18th October.

The children chosen this week to receive a certificate in assembly for demonstrating this month’s Gospel Value- Nuturing, are: Nursery-Eliza and Abraham Reception- Minahil, Farah, Sophie and Olivia Year 1- Natalie, Keisha, Jacob, Faith Year 2- Grace, Aaliyah Ariana and Sophia Year 3-Ruby and James Year 4-Declan and Marija Year 5- Weronika and Keanu Year 6-Celiece and Molly Well done Children.

Mission Sunday This Sunday, 18th October is Mission Sunday. World Mission Sunday is a day set aside for the Catholic Church throughout the world to publicly renew its commitment to the missionary movement. It is celebrated on the third Sunday of October every year. It was created by Pope Pius XI in 1926 as the day of prayer for missions. World Mission Sunday is our chance to show love and solidarity to our brothers and sisters overseas who share our faith. In offering our prayers, we join with missionaries everywhere in communion and compassion to support them in spreading the Good News, and by giving a donation we respond to Christ's call to feed the hungry and clothe the naked.
