Creative Writing Workshop. Carmel Thomason a local author is leading a workshop on this at St. Denys Bookshop, The Conference Centre, Visitor Centre, 10, Cateaton Street Manchester on Saturday 7th November 2.00pm until 4.30pm. Cost £5-00 including refreshments. Booking essential as space is limited. I’ll advise you of the funeral details once they are known.

Fr. Patrick Earley one of our diocesan priests died on 8th October. May he rest in peace. His funeral Mass took place at St. Ambrose Chorlton last Friday.

Holy Souls Envelopes are in the narthex. Please put your donation together with the list of names you wish to be remembered at all the Masses during November and return your envelope to Church. The names will be placed in our Holy Souls box and kept on the Altar during November.

Staffing & Finance Committee meets in school on Monday at 4.30pm.

Thank you to Sainsbury’s Heaton Park who when they are available give us the flowers nearing the end of their shelf life to assist us with providing flowers for Church.

The Bishop, through Caritas, is putting together a Diocesan response to the pending refugee crisis. He is asking that every parish has a nominated person to act as the parish representative in assisting with the help/information to be given/shared in the event of this affecting our Diocese more than it already does. If you are interested please speak with Fr. Glover.

Thank you to all who gave to the Cornerstone Harvest Appeal. We we able to cram the vehicle to overflowing and give a cheque for £1200-00.

Clocks go back one hour when your go to bed next Saturday.

Christmas Fayre. Please help stock the stalls by bringing to Church Tinned and Dried foods, Bric a Brac, Tombola prizes, Toys, Cosmetics and Toiletries, Bottles, Books. If you are happy to bake cakes for the cake stall these may be brought the day before the fayre or on the day itself. If you need you tine returning please put your name on it.

Christmas Draw Tickets are now available in the narthex, please take some to buy and to sell.

St. Anne’s Parent Teachers are holding a Bingo Night in the Parish Hall on Friday 6.30pm until 9.30pm.

Refreshments available. Tickets Family (2 adult & 2 children) £1-50. Adult £1-00 Children 25p.

Tony Murray whom many of you will know, is undertaking a sponsored walk in our deanery to raise the profile of and funds for St. Joseph’s Welfare team who have worked in our deanery for 40 years. The length of the walk is just under 22 miles and Tony being 78 years old hopes to accomplish it inside of one day. He will be doing it on Saturday 6th November. He is hoping this walk will raise the profile of their work, and increase their volunteer base in addition to raising funds. If you wish to volunteer please let me have your name and telephone number and I will pass them on to Tony. If you wish to join him on the walk or part of the walk and ask your friends, family and contacts to sponsor you then once again please let me have your details and I will pass them on to Tony. If you are unable to do either of those things but are willing to sponsor Tony, there are some sponsorship forms in the narthex for you to sign. Tony will be with us on Tuesday for the school harvest Mass.

Please note that the wall safe near the church door is now for youth missions and the wall safe above the piety stall is for piety money should not one be available for you to hand it to.

St. Anne’s Book of Remembrance. At the Noon Mass on the first Saturday of each month I shall place “The Book of Remembrance” on the altar and the Mass will be offered for the souls of all those whose names are contained in the book. If you wish the name/s of members of your family recording in the book please complete one of the slips that are available in the Narthex and return it to Fr. Glover with your donation. This will mean that your loved ones will be remembered at Mass each month, in addition to the masses you would normally ask to be offered on their anniversary or in memory of their birthday.

Going into hospital? Don’t forget to inform Fr. Glover on 740 2448 who will advise the Catholic Chaplain or call the chaplain Fr. Matus on 834 4104.

Places in our school. It is essential that any catholic parent who wishes their child to have a place at our school registers them as soon as possible. PLEASE DO NOT WAIT UNTIL YOUR CHILD IS READY TO GO TO SCHOOL as you may find a place isn’t available. If you haven’t registered your child even if a place is available your child’s name and offer of a place will not have been passed to the local education authority by the school and subsequently a place at a non catholic school may well be offered.

Prayer Group Monday 7.30pm until 8.30pm Divine Mercy Prayer Group meets in church every third Sunday of the month 3.00pm until 4.00pm.

The Candle at the Shrine of Our Lady burns as a silent prayer for Mary Dean Is God calling you to be one of His Priests? If you think He may be, have a word with Fr. Glover.

Copper Jar. There is a jar next to Francis in the Narthex at St Anne’s Church. We are collecting 1p, 2p and 5p pieces should you have any spare to place in it.
