It has been a wonderful week at Reydon Primary with our Harvest Festivals.

We really enjoyed seeing all the parents, families and friends of the children and we really hoped you enjoyed our Harvest-themed songs! I was incredibly impressed with the children’s behaviour throughout and I am very proud that they were such a credit to Reydon Primary School. May I also thank the parents that donated food to the Suffolk Food Bank. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Talented Reydon One of our talented pupils, Charlie Cooper, in Year 5, won second prize for his photograph in the Reydon Show. The theme was ‘something mainly yellow’. Well done Charlie!

Harvest Festival

Reception News Sound books are coming home for children to practise the new sounds. Please could you return these to book bags when your child has practised them.

Thank you to those parents who attended the Phonics for Parents session on Wednesday. The powerpoint presentation is now on the Reception page of the Reydon Primary website. An evening session for those parents who were unable to attend, will be on Wednesday 14th October at 6pm.

Financial Housekeeping I am pleased to announce that, following a financial audit of the School, all financial procedures and systems are working effectively and in line with regulatory standards. Well done to our Cluster Business Manager, Mrs Mayne, as well as Mrs Barnes and Mrs Millward.

Some pictures from our Harvest Festivals this week.

Playground Safety As part of our improvements for the outside area, the play equipment next to the playground is being moved to the other side of the field this weekend. This will be for the children to play on during their break and lunchtimes in suitable weather.

As this area will not be supervised during the morning, for your child’s safety, please could you help to ensure that the children do not play in this area before school. I will be reminding the children in assembly that this equipment is for break and lunchtimes only. Thank you for your cooperation.

Year 3 were lucky enough to be given a talk on skeletons this week. Jason’s mum came to talk about what our bones are used for and how to keep them healthy. We are grateful to Vicky for giving up her time to talk to the children and we are keen to hear from other parents or carers who feel they may have some skills or knowledge that would benefit our children. Please speak to your child’s class teacher if you would like to help in this way.
