They have a non-uniform day as a reward next Thursday.

Welcome Class Welcome Parent Meetings.

Year 1 W Parents -please be aware that there was a mistake on last week’s newsletter in regards to the Welcome to Year 1L meeting date. The meeting is on Wednesday 23 rd September and not on Thursday as stated last week.

Thank you to all those parents who have attended meetings so far, your positive comments are much appreciated..

Welfare New KS2 Homework/Reading Diaries- KS2 pupils have now had their new homework diaries for a week. Please check and sign your child’s diary each week; there is also space for you to make a comment regarding their homework and effort.

Parking Thank you to those parents who have made an effort to park a little further away from the school no parking zone on Crescent Avenue. We fully appreciate that this is not always easy but it is unfortunately a necessity if we are to avoid any road traffic accidents outside school. You support in this matter is much appreciated, thank you!

School Concerns If you have concerns regarding your child (academic or social) please see their class teacher at the end of the day or make an appointment to meet with the head teacher. We have an open door policy here at St Anne’s and face to face discussions are always the best way to sort out concerns. The school complaints policy is available on the school website and paper versions are available if you ask at the main reception area.

Silver Games Award Congratulations to the school sports team who have worked hard to gain a Silver Sainsbury’s Sports Award for the school. This year we are going for gold!

Witness The children chosen this week to receive a certificate in assembly for demonstrating this month’s Gospel Value, Acceptance, are: Reception- Ella, Jayden, Nathan Year 1- Juliana, Nikodem, Rafal and Barselona Year 2- Bertha, Aliana, Valerija and Alexsandria Year 3-Gwen and Paola Year 4-Emile and Ella Year 5- Carla and Damien Year 6-Haseeb and Tanvir Rainbow Room-Ali Macmillan Coffee Morning- next Friday morning in the school hall, from 9.00am. Children donating cakes may wear non uniform that day as a reward. Cakes will also be sold to pupils during the afternoon. Please support this fundraising event as this work Macmillan does in supporting Cancer sufferers is essential.

We are looking for a new Parent Governor to join the Governing Body.

Are you enthusiastic about education and do you have some time to spare? Then you are just the person we need because we are looking for a new Parent Governor to join our School's governing body. Parent governors play an important role as members of the governing body, which is responsible for directing the conduct of the school and for promoting high standards of educational achievement. The term of office for parent governors, as determined by the governing body is 4 years. The school has high expectations of the time and commitment required from its governors in order to effectively fulfil their roles. Further details and nomination forms will be sent out next week.

Sacramental Programme Meeting- Father Glover will be holding a short meeting, for the parents of children on this year’s sacramental Programme, on Thursday 24th at 3pm (please wait outside the year 3 classroom until the children have been dismissed at the end of the day). This will be followed by a Presentation Mass on Sunday 27th September at 10.30am.

Word Thank you to our school Chaplains who met with Miss Irene this week to agree the wording to decorate our new prayer area. Mrs Regan has purchased some new resources for this area to help the children with quiet reflection and prayer. I am sure they will be well used!

Worship Our first school Mass is on Tuesday 29th September at 9.10am. Please come along and join us as we welcome in the new academic year.

Volunteers still needed-During October we will be saying the Rosary with children during the lunchtime period. Several Parishioners have volunteered to come along and lead the Rosary which, weather permitting, will be said in our outdoor Oasis area.

It would be lovely if we had some parent volunteers also. If you are interested in praying along with us and have some free time between 12 and 1pm please let Miss Irene or Mrs Regan know.
