Welfare Macmillan Coffee Morning.

Thank you for your generous cake donations and to those who attended this morning’s Macmillan Coffee Morning. The money raised will help support vital local services for people with cancer. Every pound raised will help make sure no one faces cancer alone.

Homework Clubs Homework clubs for KS1&2 children will run this term on a Tuesday and Wednesday. They will be supervised by teaching assistants who can offer help and support. Please note these sessions are not for reading homework which should be done with parents. Homework club will run until 3.45pm in Mrs Haggett’s classroom, children will be dismissed from the classroom door.

Cross Country Congratulations to all 15 children who completed the course and represented the school with perseverance and pride.

Parent Engagement Evaluations We have extended the deadline for returning these forms until Monday 28.9.15. All returned forms will be entered into a shopping voucher raffle on Monday afternoon.

Worship Presentation Mass During Mass on Sunday the children taking part in this year’s sacramental programme. Please pray for them all; if you would like to be a prayer partner for them please let Father Glover know. May God bless them all on their faith journey.

School Mass

Our first school Mass of the academic years takes place on Tuesday 29th September at 9.10am. Please come along and support our RE ambassadors who will be reading and leading the Offertory.

Harvest Mass This year’s harvest mass will take place on Tuesday 13th October at 9.10am. As usual we are asking for donations of food for the Cornerstones Charity who provide food and hot meals for those less fortunate than ourselves living in the local area.

Please send your donations of tins and packet food into school on Monday 12 th

Prayer and Worship Prayer and worship are central to school life at St Anne’s and children are encouraged to pray individually and as part of our community. There are many opportunities for worship within the school and as part of our parish. All are welcome to join us as we celebrate the Word of God through liturgies, assemblies and Mass. As part of our summer refurbishment we now have a special quiet prayer and reflection area that is used by the children throughout the day.

Year 2 Class Mass-

Parents of children in Year 2 are invited to the Year 2 class mass on Tuesday 6 th October at 2.15pm.

Witness Parent Governor Vacancy Please remember that election nomination forms need to be returned to school by 12.00pm on Wednesday 30th September, 2015. The most important qualities for being a governor are enthusiasm, commitment and an interest in education

Peer Mediators Our Peer mediators have been training with Miss Whitehead this week to develop a set of values which they feel show how God wants us to live. These values link to our Gospel values which permeate through all of school life. They will be taking up their roles at playtimes and lunchtimes, after half term. They will be recognisable by their caps and bum bags!

Welcome Congratulations to our two new teachers, Miss Walker and Miss Thomason who will be welcomed into Salford Diocese at a Commissioning Mass at Salford Cathedral on Tuesday 29th September. As part of the Mass each newly qualified teacher is commissioned to work in their Catholic School within the Diocese of Salford. We ask God to guide and bless you throughout your teaching careers.

Grandparents Afternoon Tea and Blessing The school Chaplains and RE Ambassadors will be holding a Grandparents assembly followed by Afternoon Tea Monday 5th October at 2pm.

Newsletters As part of developing communication with parents, we will start sending out newsletters via email, as well as paper versions, over the next few weeks. This will mean that letters are received promptly and do not get lost or left in classrooms and school bags. If you would like to receive regular newsletters this way please fill in the attached slip with your email address and return it to the school office (please print so that the address is easily readable and can be transferred onto our school system). It is important that when you change your email address or telephone number that you inform the school office. All newsletters can also be found in the parents section of the school website.

Word Our school Chaplains are now meeting with the class RE ambassadors to support prayer and worship throughout the school. Please take the time to read the ‘Wednesday Word’ with your child each Wednesday in preparation for the followings Sunday’s Gospel message in church.
