Tony Murray whom many of you will know, is undertaking a sponsored walk in our deanery to raise the profile of and funds for St. Joseph’s Welfare team who have worked in our deanery for 40 years. The length of the walk is just under 22 miles and Tony being 78 years old hopes to accomplish it inside of one day. He will be doing it on Saturday 6th November. I enclose with these notices a copy of the Letter Tony has sent to the priests of our deanery, which explains some the history and work of the team. As you can see they are looking to increase their volunteer base in addition to raising funds. If you wish to volunteer please let me have your name and telephone number and I will pass them on to Tony. If you wish to join him on the walk or part of the walk and ask your friends, family and contacts to sponsor you then once again please let me have your details and I will pass them on to Tony. If you are unable to do either of those things but are willing to sponsor Tony, there are some sponsorship forms in the narthex for you to sign. Tony will be with us on Tuesday 13th October for the school harvest Mass.

Today at the 10.30am Mass we welcome those being presented for admission to the Sacramental Programme.

Monday School Governors 5 W’s training in school at 4.00pm School will be attending the Mass on Tuesday morning.

Social Committee those of you who indicated to Steve that you would be willing to be a member of this committee are invited to a meeting in the Parish Hall at 7.00pm on Friday. If you didn’t indicate that would like to help plan and organise the social life of the parish but would like to be involved, please turn up.

Dr. Caplin’s Park View Medical Centre. If you are a patient and usually have an annual influenza vaccination, or you are over 65 years old or fall into one of the risk categories, I have put up in the narthex the dates of the walk in clinics at the medical practice. If you cannot make any of them you can ask for an appointment.

Over the next two weeks we will be collecting the following for Cornerstone’s harvest food appeal. Please bring you gifts to Church and following the Harvest Mass in mid October all the produce will be taken to Cornerstone. Tinned beans, Tuna, Tomatoes and Soups, Dried pasta, Rice, Coffee, Tea, Toilet rolls, Soap, shower gell, toothpaste, tooth brushes and toiletries. If you prefer to give money rather than goods please place your gift in an envelope marked Cornerstone and give it to Fr. Glover. Cheques made payable to St. Anne’s Crumpsall.

Please note that the wall safe near the church door is now for youth missions and the wall safe above the piety stall is for piety money should not one be available for you to hand it to.

St. Dunstan’s AODS are presenting Songs from the Shows at St. John Bosco’s Parish Hall Charlestown Road, Blackley on Friday 2nd October at 7.00pm. It is in aid of Mount Carmel Church Restoration Fund. Tickets are £6 adult, £3 children £15 for a family ticket (2 adult & 2 chidlren). A hot supper is included in the price.

St. Anne’s Book of Remembrance. From January 2015 at the Noon Mass on the first Saturday of each month I shall place “The Book of Remembrance” on the altar and the Mass will be offered for the souls of all those whose names are contained in the book. If you wish the name/s of members of your family recording in the book please complete one of the slips that are available in the Narthex and return it to Fr. Glover with your donation. This will mean that your loved ones will be remembered at Mass each month, in addition to the masses you would normally ask to be offered on their anniversary or in memory of their birthday.

You may recognise some of your friends from this parish! For further information ask Steve Bentley, or Damian Collins.

Going into hospital? Don’t forget to inform Fr. Glover on 740 2448 who will advise the Catholic Chaplain or call the chaplain Fr. Matus on 834 4104.

Places in our school. It is essential that any catholic parent who wishes their child to have a place at our school registers them as soon as possible. PLEASE DO NOT WAIT UNTIL YOUR CHILD IS READY TO GO TO SCHOOL as you may find a place isn’t available. If you haven’t registered your child even if a place is available your child’s name and offer of a place will not have been passed to the local education authority by the school and subsequently a place at a non catholic school may well be offered.

Prayer Group Monday 7.30pm until 8.30pm Divine Mercy Prayer Group meets in church every third Sunday of the month 3.00pm until 4.00pm.

The Candle at the Shrine of Our Lady burns as a silent prayer for C.Clarke Is God calling you to be one of His Priests? If you think He may be, have a word with Fr. Glover.

Copper Jar. There is a jar next to Francis in the Narthex at St Anne’s Church. We are collecting 1p, 2p and 5p pieces should you have any spare to place in it.
