The children have enjoyed another busy week at school, even with the gallons of rain we have had! It would be helpful if you could ensure that your child has a suitable waterproof coat for school, particularly as the weather is turning cooler as well. We would still like to use the field as long as possible too, but the children will need a change of shoes or boots if they wish to play on the field, as it is getting muddier! There is a lot happening over the next few weeks, so please check the newsletter for dates of future events. It was lovely to see so many parents at our Celebration assembly on Monday, and we look forward to welcoming the parents of this week’s winners to the next one. Thank you for your continued support, Mrs J Viner – Head of School

Friday 18th September

The Friends of Reydon Primary We would like to thank all the parents who have already expressed an interest in supporting this group, who do so much to raise funds for the school. The first meeting of this academic year will be held on Wednesday 23rd September at 9am in the library. If you are unable to attend but would still like to help, please contact the office with your details and the Friends will be in touch, to keep you informed of future events.

Book Fair Many thanks to the parents and children who have already attended our Book Fair. The fair will be open each afternoon from 3.30-4pm in the library, finishing on Tuesday next week. If you are unable to attend, your child may still purchase a book by bringing the correct money in a named envelope. All commission received by the school will be used to purchase books for our library. Thank you for your support.

Meet the Teacher Don’t forget that our ‘Meet the Teacher’ session is on Monday 21st September at 3.30pm until 4pm. This is an opportunity for you to see your child’s work so far and to chat informally with their teacher. We look forward to seeing you then.

Harvest Festival I am pleased to announce that this year we will be inviting parents to our Harvest Festival services, at Reydon Church on Wednesday 30th September. The Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children will have their service at 9.30am until 10am. (If you are able to help with walking the children to the church please let their class teacher know.) The Key Stage 2 service will take place from 11am until 11.30am. This year we are collecting items for the Suffolk Food Bank, so if your child would like to, they may bring a tinned or packet item to carry to the church. All the classes are practising a harvest song to perform and we look forward to welcoming as many parents as possible.

Celebration Assembly If your child is one of our Tree Certificate winners this week, please join us for our Celebration Assembly on Monday at 3pm to see your child receive their certificate.

Carlton Marshes Year 4 spent the day on Tuesday, at Carlton Marshes with The Suffolk Wildlife Trust The children learned about food chains, classifying invertebrates and using compasses to navigate with maps. It was a thoroughly engaging day and has led to some excellent discussions in class. Thank you to Mrs Woodcraft and Mrs Rose who kindly supported the trip and Mr Patterson for organising it.
