Year 5 Parent Friendly Newsletter Welcome back! We hope you all had a great break and are looking forward to the new term. The children have a wide range of activities to look forward to in the forthcoming weeks.
Literacy We will be focusing on myths within Literacy. The children will be developing their skills at writing fiction and non-fiction genres.
Numeracy In maths this term we will be focusing all core areas. We will be using and applying our mathematical knowledge. The children will be focusing on knowing their times tables.
Things to do at home: Things to do at home: Question your child on the book Encourage your child to practice they are reading at home. their times tables. Encourage your child to write Question and get your child to independently at home on use their mathematical areas of interest. knowledge in everyday situations.
R.E The children will be learning about ‘Ourselves’. We will be focusing on what makes us unique and how God gave us many talents & qualities. Year 5 will also be learning about Judaism.
Science We have started the term with our new topic ‘Out of this World’. The children will be learning about the Solar System.
