Focus of Support – Curriculum  Kearsley Academy PE Lessons KS2 for the whole school year – Service Level Agreement (SLA) purchased – focussing on a different aspect each term. Gymnastics, Football Skills, Outdoor Activities, including orienteering.  Swimming Lessons for Year 3 – 10 week block.  Zumbini – Reception Class  Zumba Brain Breaks – Yrs 1 & 2  Paralympic athlete visit – whole day focus on sport led by Paralympian Lee Whitely  Inter School Sports Focus of Support – Extra Curricular  ‘Dancing Feet’ – opportunity for children from all ages to take part in a cost subsidised dance club.  Tag Rugby – opportunity for children in Key Stage 2 to experience rugby coaching from Bolton Rugby Club funded by the school.  Wrestling - opportunity for children in Key Stage 2 to experience wrestling coaching funded by the school.

Focus of Support – Subsidised Residential Visits (in school time) for Yrs 5 & 6  Y5 visit to Grasmere cost subsidised.  Y6 team building outdoor activity residential cost subsidised.

Focus of Support – Subsidised School Trips  Subsidise physical activity trips for all children to keep costs affordable for parents.  Reception visit to Chill Factore – Reception children experience winter sports

Impact  Kearsley Academy SLA – children experience a wide range of skills from PE experts.

Teachers observe lessons taught by professionals and gain valuable professional development (CPD) which they can use in future lessons.  Swimming Lessons – Year 3 children are taught to swim, learn survival skills and gain confidence in the water. This is a grounding for the curriculum swimming lessons children receive in Year 6.  Zumbini – Reception Class. This programme enables children to gain experiences in 3 Early Years Goals (Expressive Arts and Design, Personal, Social and Emotional Development and Physical Development)  Zumba Brain Breaks – Years 1 & 2. This programme further develops physical movement and expressive arts.  Paralympian visit – inspiring children use sport to overcome adversity.  Subsidy of Extra Curricular Clubs – encouraging children who may not have otherwise been able, to take part in a wide variety of sporting activities outside of the school day.  Subsidy of Residentials and trips in school time – helping parents afford for their child to take part in exciting physical activities that they would not normally be able to access.

Through funding from the PE and Sport Grant, school is able to offer a wide range of sporting experiences, which are carefully chosen and intended to make a difference and shape children’s lives for the future.

Our school sports teams enjoy a good level of success in competitions and we have seen an increase in participation in sporting activities because of the opportunities we are able to offer.
