Our Mission Statement provides a clearer picture of what we value and the learning opportunities we are striving to offer our children at Gillibrand!

Aspiration

Visitors to school inspire us to consider what we would like to do in the future. They also show us how they use what they learned at school in their jobs.

I could be a dental nurse‌

We aspire to be the best.

We presented at the ‘Outstanding History Conference’ to over 100 teachers!

Arts And Culture

We particularly value music at Gillibrand.

Our children love it!

We are all learning to play an instrument.

We love the experience of performing to a large audience‌

as well as smaller audiences at our school Carol Service.

Live performances provide a unique experience for our children and pantomimes are part of our British culture.

We booed the ‘baddies’…

and cheered the ‘goodies’!

We learn a lot from educational visits.

We have just been to the Imperial War Museum.

An artist came to tell us all about Lowry.

He also showed us how to sketch and paint like Lowry.

We all tried and succeeded!

We also visited the Lowry Art Gallery

Performing assemblies for our parents‌

makes us proud and more confident.

We all remember our first Nativity!

Community

We learn about the different religions within our community.

Visitors help us to gain a deeper understanding.

The Commonwealth Torch

Governors often come in to school to see what we are learning and sometimes they join in!

We held an Orienteering Competition for local schools.

The Remembrance Service

KS2 all went for walks around the town.

Chorley Silver Band came to school and we were able to play their instruments.

We collected food for the Living Waters Food Bank at our Harvest Festival
