I would also like to welcome our reception children and their families. I have spent some time with them this week and I am delighted that the children are already building relationships with our staff and with each other. All are now confidently enjoying the learning resources and opportunities on offer.

Much of our news this week has already been detailed in a letter together with some forms that need completing. Please check your child’s book bag if you haven’t received this.

I look forward to working with you and your children over the coming weeks.

School Clubs A letter, detailing the clubs on offer to your child, has been sent home this week. They are as follows: Monday KS2 – Hockey Tuesday KS1 – Badminton Wednesday KS2 – Dodgeball Thursday KS1 – Football Friday (before school) Yrs 4/5/6 Badminton Please see letters for more details and permission slips.

Meet the Teacher There will be a session to meet your child’s teacher on Monday 21st September at 3.30pm. Do come along to see their classroom, books and teacher!

TREE CERTIFICATES The winners of the first tree certificates will be announced next Friday and then included in the weekly newsletter. If your child is one of our winners, you are welcome to join us for the Celebration Assembly on the following Monday at 3pm. The first one will therefore be on Monday 14th September.

It has been lovely to see the children so happy and eager to be coming back to school, looking very smart in their uniforms. Walking around the school, I have been really impressed by their attitude and learning behaviour. I am looking forward to seeing them make the progress that I know they can.

The Friends Of Reydon Primary School I am sure you are aware that, without the support of the ‘Friends’, many of the fundraising events that take place during the school year would not happen.

This year, they have raised a considerable amount of money through the Summer Fete, discos and other events, which has been used to benefit all the children within school .

EACH Fundraising At the end of last term, Miss Church’s class decided to have a pyjama day as their end of term treat. The children decided they would like the money raised to help other children. Caroline from East Anglian Children’s Hospices came in to give the children a talk. They also made bunting for her to take back to EACH for them to use at their fun day.

The children raised £23.10 for the charity.

A core group of parents is needed to continue this wonderful work. Meetings are normally held every half term.

Pastoral Support Mrs Scriven will be available to talk to parents from Monday to Thursday during the morning. If you have any welfare concerns about your child, please do not hesitate to pop in.

Lost Property Please ensure your child’s uniform has been labelled so that we can instantly return any lost property. I know that lots of the children have new items of clothing, so please check that they are clearly marked with the name and class. Thank you.
