Your first KS1 Newsletter for 2015-16 We hope you have had a lovely time over the summer and are looking forward to what the new academic year holds. We are looking forward to getting to know you and working together so that we can have a very exciting and productive year. We hope that you and your child enjoy the new challenges and opportunities for learning this year. What we’re doing this term Our topic this term is Penguins, Possums and Pigs. The children will be learning about different types of animals, about places around the world and how they are different to the UK alongside much more! Towards the end of the half term we hope to have a WOW afternoon on Friday 23rd October where you as parents can come into school and work with your child. We hope your children enjoy their learning journey and are able to engage with the topic this term.

Wanted Would you be willing to give us some of your spare time to come into school and listen to children read? No previous experience necessary! If you are interested please speak to Mr Boyd.

Class Blogs Parrots

General Reminders

Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school and that all items are clearly labelled. Earrings are not allowed for PE due to health and safety and should either be removed by the child or plasters provided to cover the earrings.

Herons

Please check your child’s hair regularly for head lice and treat as necessary. Please ensure that your child has a coat in school in order for them to be able to go outdoors at playtime or for outdoor learning as the weather is beginning to get a little cooler. Spellings will continue to be weekly alongside daily reading.
