And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Romans 8.28) Dear Parents and Carers, Welcome back to school after the summer break! I hope you have all enjoyed the holidays and that your child has returned to school ready for another year of hard work and fun! I am sure you will agree that the refurbishment work and new upper Key Stage 2 areas look wonderful. Pupils have been shown around the school today and are very impressed. New doors have been fitted to the front of school and can be accessed via a telephone intercom. They have been designed to improve school security including the safety of pupils and staff. Please try to avoid paying money at the office as there is very little room in the foyer. All money coming into school should be handed into your child’s teacher at the classroom door (in an envelope with your child’s name, amount and reason for payment on the front) and this will then be sent to the office and a receipt/change issued. Alternatively, please use the school’s online payment system ‘School Gateway’. Welcome During our morning assembly we welcomed three new teachers (Miss Walker Year 1, Miss Moloney Year 5 and Miss Thomason Year 3) and several new children. We hope that they enjoy being part of our St Anne’s family and we will all play our part in making sure they feel welcome in our school. Year 6 Parent Meeting- Mrs Clegg will be holding a brief meeting for parents on Monday 7th September 3.00pm until 3.15pm. This is to welcome your child to Year 6 and discuss the expectations and challenges for your child’s final year in primary school, before moving on to secondary education. Worship Last year, our schools Chaplains worked hard developing a school prayer that expressed our school values. This year’s chaplains have changed the prayer slightly with the words ‘ this school’ replaced with ‘St Anne’s’. The school prayer is displayed in the hall but if you would like to practise it with your child you will find the words at the end of the newsletter. St Anne’s is a good school – OFSTED 2013.
