As another fantastic year at Bishop Martin draws to a close we are celebrating the children’s achievement across the school. The wonderful thing about our school is that whilst we all work hard, together with yourselves to ensure the children attain their best in English and Maths we know it is not the only thing that counts. In sport, art, music, IT and a whole list of other activities our children excel. You only have to look at our weekly newsletters or website to see that as a result of an interesting curriculum, exciting events and great teaching Bishop Martin children are constantly inspired they enjoy and they certainly achieve! Once again we have amazing end of Key Stage 2 test results with 93% of our children gaining level 4, the expected standard in Reading and Maths. Even better, 66% of our children achieved level 5 in reading and 62% reached level 5 in Maths which is above the expected level for their age. As well as our Y6 leavers, we say goodbye and thank you to Miss Conway and Mrs Howarth who both move on to pastures new and to Mrs Givens who has volunteered in school for the last 8 years. In September we will be welcoming a new teacher to our school nursery - Mr Wilkinson. Thank you for entrusting your children into our care and for all your support and encouragement throughout the year. We hope you and your families have a happy SUNNY summer break and we look forward to seeing you all again in September. From Mrs Gray and all the staff Y6 children leaving for High School Well done to the Y6 children who have achieved fabulous results in their SATs test this year, made us proud and entertained us with their stunning performances in sport and on stage.
