HARDY MILL PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER JUNE 2015 Assessment Week – Monday 8th June – Friday 12th June inc. All children in Years 1, 3, 4 and 5 will be assessed next week. It is important that all children are in school for these assessments. These end of year assessments alongside teacher assessments will be used to inform children’s targets and your child’s end of year report. If you have any questions about assessment week, please don’t hesitate to discuss them with your child’s class teacher.

Safe in the Sun Although the weather has been variable, to say the least over the past few weeks, this half term is usually the one where we enjoy the warmest weather. Please make sure that your child is well protected as the weather becomes warmer by sending them to school with sun hats and water bottles. Applying sun cream before they come to school is also advisable as it will also help to protect them when they are outside.

Summer Fair– Saturday 4th July – 11.00pm to 2.00pm We are already looking forward to our Summer Fair after the tremendous success of last year’s event. The PTA is working hard to ensure that there will be lots of great games to play, prizes to be won, gifts to buy and food and drink to eat. The very popular BBQ will be returning so do come and join us for lunch! To support the PTA with their efforts in this fundraising event, there will be two ‘Come As You th th Please Days’ on Friday 12 June and Friday 26 June. Letters with further details will follow shortly.

Parking Safety Reminder Please can all parents who use the parental drop off zone ensure that your child locks are on at all times and that your children are supervised away from the car parking area? Thank you for your consideration with this matter.

Before and After School We have had a number of incidents over the past few weeks where children have been hurt before and after school whilst playing with equipment brought from home. Therefore please can I ask that roller skates, wheelies, bikes and other equipment are not brought onto school premises to play with and that children are supervised by their adult at all times. Unfortunately we are unable to provide play equipment for the children before and after school, as staff are not available to supervise.
