Confirmation On Monday five of our pupils; Phillip, Aimee-Louise, Kiara-Jane, Ruby and Branden were confirmed in Liverpool Anglican Cathedral amongst many other people. We would like to congratulate them and will support them in their faith journey. They will have their first communion on Sunday 14th June at Christ the Servant Church 10am. Please come and support them. Bishop Paul’s Visit Bishop Paul came to visit our school yesterday to speak with the Year 5/6 pupils from across the parish about his own faith journey. As part of his visit he included blessing our new school 'Values Walk'. Packed Lunch Notice We are trying hard at the moment to monitor what the children are eating and what they are throwing away from their packed lunches each day. Despite our best efforts, there are still children throwing away uneaten food. As parents it is important that you know which food your child is and is not eating from their lunch. Therefore from next week we will be using bin bags to collect all empty wrappers etc. that can end up smelling in the warm weather if left in a lunchbox all afternoon (yoghurt pots, cheese wrappers etc.). However all other wrappers, uneaten food etc. will be put back into lunchboxes for the pupils to take home. Many thanks. Universal Free School Meals You could save yourself up to £418 per year per child. All children in primary reception and years one and two are entitled to universal free school meals. Children are able to choose from a hot or a cold lunch. A typical day’s menu is: Hot choice Harry Ramsden’s Chip Shop Fish Fillet with new potatoes or chunky chips and sweetcorn. Gammon Steak or Quorn dippers (v) with Hash Browns and Baked Beans. Cold choice A sandwich or roll with cheese, tuna or ham, salad/veg and fruit. Dessert Drink Oat & Raisin cookie or yoghurt Milk or Water

Bottled water in school As the warm weather approaches, some parents may wish to send a bottled drink into school with their children to have in class during the day. The school does have water fountains inside every infant class and just outside the junior classes. Pupils are given access to these fountains throughout the school day. If you still wish to send a bottle of drink in with your child, school policy requires that you follow these very simple procedures: 1. Only plastic bottles to be used. 2. Please use a bottle with a sports cap on it. 3. Only use normal drinking water (tap water is absolutely fine). 4. Once a drink from home has been used up, pupils will not be allowed to refill them in school. They will, of course, always be allowed to get a drink from the water fountain if they wish. This last rule is very important. All pupils drink water from the water fountains throughout the year. I'm sure you can appreciate the potential difficulties it would present if all pupils started bringing in different flavoured drinks to have in class.
