Friday 22nd May 2015 Our News! It was lovely to see so many of you at both of the class assemblies. The children were amazing, so full of confidence and knew so many dinosaur facts and songs. The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about Dinosaurs they have used their super writing skills to make some excellent information books, with labels, illustrations, captions and some children have even put a blurb on the back cover! Mrs McGrath has enjoyed reading some of them! We have also been reading ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’ by Michael Rosen. The children have loved retelling the story, with actions and sound effects. They have written lists of what they would like to take with them if they were going to be explorers and go on a bear hunt of their own. In Mathematics we have been recapping over 2D and 3D shapes. We have used them to make symmetrical patterns, sort according to different criteria, build dinosaur models and make dinosaur pictures. We are definitely shape experts now! In PE we have enjoyed going on our own bear hunts climbing over, going under, balancing across and moving in different ways around obstacles.
STARS OF THE WEEK Isabella Mercer for showing lots of confidence and Sophie Stenton for super writing. Well done to our Mathematicians of the half term Leo Tough and Jordan Clapp and our Star Writers Callen Ormand and Lexi Nelson Our next newsletter will be on Friday 12th June and will give details about all the fun activities we have planned for the next few weeks.
