PE Expectations letter May 2015

18th May 2015 Dear Parent/Carer Firstly can I take this opportunity to introduce myself as the newly appointed Head of PE. Since joining ACE Academy at Easter I am keen to drive standards forward in the department and across the school. Part of this requires students to be actively participating in PE all of the time. The PE Department would like to take this opportunity, as we move into the final half term of the academic year to remind you and your child of the standards and expectations in the PE department. We have high expectations as a department with our main aim to deliver high quality PE lessons in order to allow all students to make progress. Students are therefore expected to follow several basic expectations: •

They will arrive in a calm and sensible manner and will wait outside until they are greeted and sent into the changing rooms

They will arrive with the full appropriate ACE Academy kit (Including Top, Bottoms and socks)

No food or drink will be out in the changing rooms

The changing room will be treated with the same respect as any other classroom

If students have a medical issue or injury that prevents them from taking a full and active part in the lesson then they must bring with them a parental note which must be signed. The student MUST still get changed into ACE Academy PE Kit so that they can adopt other roles in the lesson. The student may also be asked to complete a non-participant worksheet as evidence of learning)

If your child arrives without all items of their PE kit they will be expected to borrow the relevant items from the PE department. Failure or refusal to do so will result in further sanction.

If any student does not meet the expectations or standards as listed above then on a second offence parents will be contacted and a 30 minute detention will be issued.
