Office Opening times: the office is open for payments on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. 8.45am to 10am Tuesday- Closed.

Vomiting and Diarrhoea Bugs If you child is ill with a vomiting or diarrhoea bug, they need to stay off school for 48 after the last episode of illness. This is to stop infections from spreading to other children and staff and also to ensure that your child is fully recovered. Thank you for your support in this matter!

School Attendance. We have been informed by the Department of Education, that they are planning to reduce the level of absence a child may have, within the school year, before they are classed as having ‘persistent absence’. Previously, a child’s absence had to be 15% (85% attendance) before they were classed as having persistent absence but from September this is being reduced to 10% (90% attendance). It is therefore extremely important, that all children return to school on the correct day following school holidays; there is no leeway for parents to take additional days leave.

Nepal Earthquake Appeal. Thank you for all your generous donations last week. School raised £268.55 which has been donated via the CAFOD Earthquake Appeal fund. Your donations will help to provide food, water, shelter kits and emergency supplies.  £25 provides clean water to three families for a week  £60 will provide tents for 25 families St Anne’s is a good school – OFSTED 2013.

 £150 buys enough rice for 20 families for a month.

Sacramental Programme Information.  Confirmation is on Saturday 16th May, at 2pm (children to be seated by 1.45pm).

Children should sit at the front with their sponsors. Please remember NO Photographs will be allowed during the service but Father Glover will be available after Confirmation to have photographs taken with the children should you wish.

This is an important event in your child’s journey in the Catholic Faith, the children behave impeccably in church and we hope that guest also follow their examples.  Holy Communion is on Saturday 13th June at 1pm (children should be seated by 12.45pm). Children will sit at the front of Church with the school staff. Please remember NO Photographs will be allowed during the Mass but Father Glover will be available afterwards to have photographs taken with the children should you wish. If your child requires a red communion tie please ask at the school office and they will order one for you.

For both occasions Father Glover has agreed to reserve several benches at the front (on the left hand side) for parents. Please ask you friends and other family members to sit further back. Thank you for your support in these matters.

Year 6 SATs. Next week our year 6 children will be sitting their SAT examinations. These are National Tests which are administered to strict guidelines. If you have a Year 6 child please make sure they have plenty of sleep and arrive at school on time ready tackle the tests. Mrs Clegg will be providing breakfast refreshments for the children prior to the tests. We wish all our children the best of luck and hope that they are rewarded with results which demonstrate the hard work and commitment they have put into their learning whilst at St Anne’s. Please remember all our year 6 children in your prayers next week.

Friday 22nd May – school closes at 3pm and reopens on Tuesday 2nd June (summer ½ term).

Tuesday 2nd June – Year 6 Crucial Crew Safety Visit (morning).

Thursday and Friday 4th/5th June – Musicians from Bridgewater Hall in school to work with Y4 and Y5.

Saturday 13th June – Holy Communion 1pm.

Tuesday 16th June – Year 5 visit to Marist Centre. Coach leaving at 9.15am and returning to school for 3pm.

Wednesday 17th – Friday 20th June – Year 6 residential trip to Condover Hall.

Monday 22nd June – Year 4 /5 concert at Bridgewater Hall.

Wednesday 24th June – Year 2 visit to Marist centre. Coach leaving at 9.15am and returning to school for 3pm.

Monday 29th June visit to Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground to watch Lancashire V Northants (year 4/5/6 pupils). Details to follow.

Wednesday and Thursday 1/2nd July -Year 6 Bikeability.

Friday 6th July – Year 6 Marist Visit.

Tuesday 7th July – Year 4 retreat to Ladywell with Father Glover.

Wednesday 8th and 9th July – Year 6 Bikeability Friday 17th July – School closes for Summer holiday 1.30pm. No afterschool clubs.
