Dirt info for Website: Music department. Year 7. Half term 1. Elements of music. Pupils learn about pitch, duration, structure, tempo, dynamics, timbre and texture. They will be introduced to musical notation, and complete a group composition and a solo performance. Baseline assessments will take place in October. Assessment 1: 33.3% performing, 33.3% listening, 33.3% composition. (Baseline assessment.) Half term 2. Rhythm and Pitch. Pupils reinforce their knowledge of musical notation. Solo performance, solo composition and listening work is assessed. Assessment 2: 33.3% performing, 33.3% listening, 33.3% composition. Half term 3. Listening to Music. This unit Pupils are introduced to a wide variety of continues into music, including world music, classical music half term 4, by and pop. Solo performance, solo composition varying and listening work is assessed.
