Research and write a factsheet about a nocturnal animal. This does not need to be any longer than one side of A4 paper.

Pretend that you and a friend are camping in the woods. What could happen? Write a short story or a diary.

Write a poem about nocturnal animals, farm animals or the life cycle of a caterpillar.

Maths & Problem Solving

Make up some worded number problems about The Great Outdoors, e.g. Zoe and Joe went camping. They had one sandwich each. How many sandwiches were there altogether?

Make some simple pictorial number sentences using farm animals, e.g.

Create a farmyard scene using lots of different shapes and colours.

Science & Outside Environment [Science, PE,

Visit Stanah park (which is free admission) and take pictures or draw any animals or plants that you can find. Can you name these animals or plants? If not, see if you can find out.

Design and draw your own obstacle course or trail. Make sure to label your obstacles!

Create your own den and take a photograph of yourself in it! This could be made out of duvets, chairs‌ the list is endless!

Humanities & Citizenship [Geography,

Draw a map of your local area (maybe the area around your house, or the area around school) and label important landmarks, such as any shops, where your friends live, school, etc. You could also stick photographs of these landmarks on your map instead of drawing them!

Talk to a parent, sister, brother or grandparents about your favourite things to do outside. What are their favourite things to do outdoors? Do they like going to the park or the beach? Do they like playing football outside? Ask them if you can do some of your favourite activities outside together.

Find out some facts about different buildings in the local area, such as Blackpool Tower, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, St Chad’s Church, etc. When were they built? What did they look like in the past? Can you find any similarities and differences in pictures from the past and present?

Create a song or rap about nocturnal animals, farm animals or insects. This can be to any music of your choice.

Design your own plant/nocturnal animal. Give it an interesting name and write some facts about it.

Create a dance which shows the movement of some nocturnal animals (such as an owl, a snake, a fox).
