Friday 27th March 2015 Our News! We have been very lucky to have such lovely visitors to our school. Bobby the Vet and Nicky the veterinary nurse came to talk to the classes about their jobs and how they look after pets. On Wednesday this week we had a fabulous spring animal activity morning. Mr and Mrs Gornall came with two of their lambs from their farm in Chipping. As Lexi Whitehead said, ‘It was the best day ever!!’ Keep an eye out on the school website blog for photographs of this fun morning! We have told them all that lambs don’t really make the best pets!! The children were all really sensible when we had a number of Mrs Claydon’s pets to visit our class! The children loved asking questions to find out more about each pet and how you care for them. The chinchillas were certainly a favourite! What amazing writers we have in the Ducklings! They enjoyed reading a book called ‘Guess My Pet!’ and used the structure of this book to write their very own guess my pet riddles! Come in and read them! In topic time the children have been busy finding out who celebrates Easter, how and why? They were all able to write about what they are looking forward to doing in their Easter holidays; lots of Easter egg hunts and having special family meals together! During snack with Mrs Moss we have made delicious chocolate Easter nests, following a simple recipe and watching the changes to the ingredients. Some of us have even been able to remember and order pictures in the correct sequence to show how we made them! We have put our fine motor skills to good use in the creative area to paint beautiful patterns on some eggs. In mathematics we have had great fun carrying out One Minute Challenges! Leo managed 56 bounces on a bouncy hopper. Nicholas ran 7 times around the playground. Ruben managed 55 dinosaur sized steps and Maisie did 37 star jumps! What fit and healthy children we have! The children have had great fun sequencing pictures of familiar events in their day and have been able to use vocabulary such as yesterday, tomorrow, before, after, etc.

STARS OF THE WEEK Marley Ibbotson for being super active and healthy Millie-Belle Walsh for a super attitude towards her learning Our next news letter will be on Friday 24th April and will give details about all the fun activities we have planned for the next few weeks.
