Ashton Highlights Newsletter 23
Friday 27th March 2015
Dear Readers
This is the last newsletter of the term and once again it’s packed with articles celebrating the work of the college and our students. Although school broke up on Thursday for the Easter break, many of our year 11 students will be coming back in next week for Easter school. There are a number of classes running to support them in their aim to achieve the best possible GCSE results they can. Classes are running in a range of curriculum areas and students who have been invited or who have volunteered to attend are looking forward to spending some high quality time with their teachers focusing on specific areas of the syllabus. We spent some time in school this week celebrating our success in everyday areas like attendance , punctuality, achievement in subject areas and also being “totally Ashton” , which is a high accolade indeed because to be awarded this means you are embodying our ethos of PROUD in all aspects of school life. It is a little hidden fact that we love to celebrate achievements here at Ashton, so the opportunity to combine that with Easter was one that we couldn’t miss. Our students left with chocolate eggs as rewards in addition to the usual certificates, which I hope they enjoy and even share with you! All that remains is for me to wish you all a happy Easter. The weather is warmer, the days are getting longer and two glorious weeks lie ahead; I hope you manage to enjoy some time with your families during the break. Best Wishes
Sharon Asquith
