PROPOSED VISIT TO:
Short walk from Bleasdale, Forest of Bowland
Dear Parent/Carer Your child is invited to attend the above event on Saturday 7th March 2015. There will be no charge for this educational visit as this will be funded by the school. The educational purpose and proposed activities of this visit are as follows: a)
To engender an interest in the outdoors.
b)
To introduce skills that will be needed for the D of E expeditions.
Students will be leaving school at 9.00am and will return to school at approximately 1.00pm. There are only 30 places available on the school minibuses for this first walk and so the first 30 replies will get the places. Although it is only a short 3-mile walk at valley level, please ensure that your child brings all of the equipment that will be appropriate for the weather conditions, such as warm clothing, waterproofs, rucksack and sturdy walking boots. A packed lunch and a drink are also needed. The transport arrangements are: School mini-buses. You will be aware that the school holds medical information on your child. Please contact the school prior to the visit if there has been any recent illness of which we should be aware. Please note that this visit is covered by Lancashire County Council public liability insurance but there is no personal accident insurance for your child. If you feel that this is necessary, you will need to make separate arrangements. You are reminded that the school has a code of conduct for behaviour. Upon request, this can be sent to you in order that you are aware of the expectations.
