Deadline: Registration on Wednesday 4th March 2015 Compulsory Subjects You will study the following GCSE subjects during Year 10 and 11; Religious Education, English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Science, ICT, PSHCE (non-exam subject), Core PE (non-exam subject). Pupils in Sets 1- 4 for Languages are directed to choose a Modern Foreign Language in either Option Block P or Option Block Q Points to consider If you intend to go to University or do the equivalent standard of training it is recommended that you consider taking a Modern Foreign Language. If you are considering attending Oxford University, Cambridge University or a Russell Group University (Top 24 Universities in the UK) you should choose a Modern Language and either History/Ancient History or Geography or Computing GCSE. The ‘Express’ French course is available for pupils who have shown a high level of ability in 9AB1, 9AB2 (French & German) and 9AB3, 9AB4, (French & Spanish) The Languages staff will make the final decision about your suitability. German is only for pupils who currently study German. You can only choose 1 subject from the technology faculty. These are identified as (Technology) BTECs are the equivalent of 1 GCSE. Read the corresponding guidance booklet before you make your choices. Discuss these choices with your parents/carer and the subject teacher before submitting your form.
