Research and write a factsheet about a jungle anima. This needs to be no bigger than A4 size.
Write a poem about a jungle animal. Try to use alliteration as a challenge (Mungo the Monkey munches mangos madly)
Find a story about a jungle animal or an explorer and share it with someone at home.
Maths & Problem Solving
Make up some worded jungle problems, e.g. 20 monkeys were in a tree. 7 fell out. How many were left?
Make some simple pictorial number sentences using jungle animals. E.g.
Create a jungle scene using different shapes and colours.

Make up a jungle dance to perform to the class. This can be to music of your choice if you wish.
Design a jungle meal or drink, using fruits of the jungle. You will need to find out about fruits you may find in the jungle.

Visit the zoo and take some photos of jungle/rainforest animals. You could visit South Lakes Animal Park/Safari Zoo which is usually free admission at this time of year. Check out their website. Make a map of the World and draw on jungle areas and animals in different locations.
Research environmental issues in the rainforest and how animal’s habitats are being affected. Make a poster.
Find out some information about Alan Bennett and the work his does on conservation.

Make a jungle animal using collage materials.
Create a model of a jungle animal.
Make up a jungle song to perform to the class. This can be to music of your choice if you wish.
