Carleton Green Primary School KS1 Newsletter - Spring 1
Happy New Year! We hope you had a lovely Christmas with your family and enjoyed the time together. We’d like to thank you for the gifts that we received at Christmas it was very kind of you. Thanks to all family and friends who came to support our activities during the festive season at school we hope you enjoyed our production of jesus@bethlehemstable.com and thank you for your positive feedback. This half term is going to be another busy, fun-filled one with lots of stuff happening.
What we’re doing this term Our topic this term is entitled ‘The Jungle’. The children will be learning about different jungles around the world, animals, art related to the jungle, and much more. We hope the children enjoy their learning journey and are able to engage with the topic this term. Homework will be set in the same style as last half term and will be sent home within the next week or so.
Class webpages & blogs Each class now has a class webpage and blog. These are accessible via the school website or scanning the QR codes below with a smartphone. The class pages contain general information for you to refer to with copies of this newsletter and also the homework menu there for you to download if it should get lost! The blogs are more of a snapshot of what is happening in your child’s class. These updated on a regular basis so make sure you look to see what your child has been up to! Parrots

General Reminders
Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school and that all items are clearly labelled. Earrings are not allowed for PE and should either be removed by the child or plasters provided to cover the earrings. If earrings are not removed or covered your child will not be able to participate in PE due to health and safety. Please continue to ensure that your child has a coat in school in order for them to be able to go outdoors at playtime or for outdoor learning. A reminder that children are only allowed to bring fruit and water in to school for snack. We’ve had a couple of cases of hair lice in school so please can you can check your child’s hair regularly and treat as necessary.
