Home – School Agreement St Stephen's C E School aims to develop its children and staff to their full potential in a happy and caring Christian environment.

School The school will: •

provide a high quality education within a stimulating, creative and exciting curriculum which inspires, challenges and motivates, giving every child the opportunity to achieve

•

create high expectations and aspirations appropriate to individual children’s abilities and a strong sense of Christian values

•

enable children to become responsible, independent, happy individuals who are well-equipped to make positive contributions to society

•

develop in children an understanding of respect, caring and discipline, leading to a high standard of behaviour

•

set, mark and monitor homework regularly

•

organise Parents’ Evenings and write reports to inform you of your child’s progress

•

contact you if we are concerned about your child

•

provide information to parents in a variety of ways, including a weekly newsletter, texting service and website

Parents / Carers I / We will:

•

ensure that my child attends school regularly and notify the School Office of any absence the same day

•

ensure that my child arrives and is collected on time at the start and end of school

•

avoid taking my child away on holiday during term time

•

ensure that my child wears the school uniform and has a full PE kit in school so that my child can participate fully

•

attend Parents’ Evenings and support my child in homework and other school activities

•

work with the school to encourage my child to behave well, supporting the school’s approach to behaviour and discipline

•

share information with the school which may affect my child’s ability to learn effectively

•

ensure I read and respond to any information/communication the school provides

Child I will:

•

follow adults’ instructions straight away

•

work as hard as possible and always try my best

•

be polite, respectful, kind and well-mannered to everyone

•

be caring and helpful to others

•

follow the School Rules

•

complete my Homework and hand it in on time
